Happy Birthday Wes Craven!

Wes Craven turns seventy-one today. So we shall honor him for giving us Papa Jupiter, those people under the stairs, Mitch Pileggi as a serial killer, Bill Pullman fighting zombies, and that Krueger guy. We shall not honor him for producing that crappy remake or letting his son write the remake of the Hills Have Eyes II.

  1. I am withholding any and all birthday wishes from Mr. Craven until a sequel (NOT a remake) to SHOCKER is given it's rightful creation and subsequent release.

  2. Keep holding your breath on that one, Astro. Why hasn't Horace Pinker been given his due? I mean, yes, there was a punk band named Horace Pinker a million years ago, but that's hardly the recognition.

  3. I would have AT LEAST wanted a Horace Pinker action figure from Movie Maniacs or NECA or something, I mean, c'mon.

  4. I loved "Shocker" too. I can't understand why Pinker didn't become an icon like Freddy -- or why Mitch Pilleggi doesn't show up in movies more, for that matter.

Nice picture of Craven -- he's a handsome devil.
